ART & RÉSILIENCE 2036 VISION

To make Switzerland a country where school bullying can no longer take hold for the long term.

School bullying will not disappear with just another awareness campaign.
Raising awareness is essential. But raising awareness is not enough.
A child may know that bullying is wrong and still remain silent.
A bystander may understand what is happening without knowing how to act.
An adult may want to help without spotting the situation early enough.
An intervention may temporarily halt the behavior without preventing it from recurring.

ART & RÉSILIENCE AIMS TO HELP GO FURTHER

Our ambition for 2036 is to help build a model in which bullying is prevented, rapidly detected, effectively and lastingly addressed, and monitored, and in which the children involved have a genuine path to recovery.

We do not claim to be able to eliminate all violence between children.
We aim to make it increasingly difficult for a child to endure bullying for weeks or months without those around them noticing and taking action.

5 LEVERS TO CHANGE THE SYSTEM

PREVENT · DETECT · ACT · REBUILD · MEASURE · PREVENT

Address the mechanisms that precede bullying from an early age:
exclusion, humiliation, group dynamics, differences, relationships with others, digital responsibility, and the role of bystanders.

DETECT
Create systems to identify early warning signs and encourage open communication before the situation becomes chronic.

ACT
Provide young people, bystanders, and adults with clear guidelines: recognizing a situation, knowing what to do, knowing who to turn to, and knowing how to relay information to the appropriate professionals.

REBUILD
Do not assume the problem vanishes simply because the bullying stops.
Self-esteem, confidence, self-expression, and relationships with others also need to be rebuilt.

MEASURE
Document experiences, gather insights from the field, and progressively measure what actually works in order to improve programs and share lessons learned.

ART AS A GATEWAY

Art & Résilience makes a distinctive choice: using art to create spaces where words, emotions, and experiences can emerge in new ways.

Visual arts, photography, music, video, writing, collaborative creation, and performance become tools for forging connections and making visible what is sometimes impossible to express directly.
However, art never replaces professional expertise.

Any initiative requiring clinical, educational, or scientific expertise must be developed and overseen in collaboration with the relevant professionals, such as psychologists, healthcare providers, bullying prevention specialists, teachers, educators, researchers, and institutions.

Art & Résilience bridges the gap between artistic creation, young people, fieldwork, and professional expertise.

CLUBS ART & RÉSILIENCE

One of the pillars of Vision 2036 could be the gradual creation of a network of "Art & Resilience" clubs within schools.

These would be spaces where young people can create, propose initiatives, work on the school climate, and play an active role in shaping their environment.

Club members do not become psychologists, investigators, or individuals responsible for handling bullying situations.
Instead, they become positive contributors to the school climate and act as a link to trained adults.

Over time, the clubs could form a national network, allowing experiences and ideas developed in one school to inspire others.
Representatives from the various clubs could also participate in the "Art & Resilience" Youth Council, ensuring that those most directly affected play a direct role in shaping solutions.

FROM THE GROUND UP TO SYSTEMIC CHANGE

Our principle is simple:

Observe → Listen → Experiment → Measure → Correct → Demonstrate → Deploy

Artistic activities in public spaces, interventions in institutions, Art & Resilience Clubs, personal accounts, rebuilding programs, and experiments conducted with professionals are gradually becoming a source of learning.

This knowledge will feed into an Art & Resilience Observatory, tasked with documenting the realities encountered, early warning signs, experiments, and results.

The goal is not to produce yet another proprietary system.

The goal is to identify, test, and share what works, in collaboration with stakeholders already active in the field.

A 10-YEAR ROADMAP

2026–2027

MAKING VISIBLE & UNDERSTANDING

Artistic activities in public spaces, personal accounts, meetings, media engagement, Youth Council, establishing a network of professionals, and initial structured field observations.

2027–2029
EXPERIMENTING
First pilot Art & Resilience Clubs, interventions in various school settings, development of artistic and educational initiatives, and experimentation with young people and professionals. Introducing an approach based on empathy among students.

2029–2031
PROVING
Measuring results, external evaluations where possible, identifying effective initiatives, refining methods, and publishing findings.

2031–2033
ROLLING OUT
Expanding the Art & Resilience Club network, sharing methods, establishing inter-cantonal partnerships, and creating replicable tools.

2033–2036
TRANSFORMING
Bringing ten years of experimental findings to the attention of institutions, contributing to new standards and recommendations, and helping to drive lasting changes in practice.

OUR 2036 GOAL

We will not measure our success by the number of posters distributed or the number of people "made aware."

We aim to gradually be able to measure:

How many children know who to turn to.
How many dare to speak up sooner.
How many situations are detected quickly.
How many bystanders know how to act.
How many situations are brought to a lasting end.
How many children regain their confidence after being victimized.

And how the sense of safety evolves within participating institutions.

A COLLECTIVE AMBITION

Art & Resilience will not solve school bullying on its own.
And that is not our intention.

Young people, families, teachers, health professionals, researchers, associations, artists, businesses, the media, municipalities, cantons, and the Confederation each hold a piece of the answer.

Our role is to help bring them together, pilot new approaches, and gradually turn real-world insights into solutions that can be rolled out widely.

Because telling a child "You are not alone" is essential.
But our ambition goes further, to build a society around them that proves it.

ART & RÉSILIENCE

2036 VISION

10 years to bring about lasting change in our response to school bullying.

Create a national system enabling any child or witness to seek help simply, discreetly, and quickly, and to be directed to the right person.
